  • Does Hotel Nikko have a fitness center?

    Hotel Nikko features a 10,000-square-foot health club with state-of-the-art strength training and cardio equipment on the fifth floor. The Health Club is open 24 hours. Health Club access is included in our Daily Amenity Fee of $39.00 plus tax (this fee is waived if you book direct on our website). 

  • How fast is the Premium Internet?
    We are pleased to offer Premium high-speed (30Mbps, HD streaming speed) wi-fi access (up to five devices) in our guestrooms and public areas.  Wi-fi is included in the Daily Amenity Fee.
  • Does Hotel Nikko have a pool?

    Our renovated wellness center and health club features a sprawling 15-meter swimming pool in a glass-enclosed space that invites the San Francisco sun, along with an indoor/outdoor lounge deck.  Pool access is included in our Daily Amenity Fee of $39. Pool hours are 6am to 10pm with adult-only hours from 7am-9am and 5pm-7pm daily. 

  • How much is parking at or around the hotel?

    24 hour Valet Parking is available for $65.00 plus tax (subject to availability).  There will be additional charges for over sized vehicles.  Valet price also includes unlimited in and out privileges.   We do not accept RV's.   

    Our valet entrance is at 180 Ellis Street, just before Mason Street. All of the hotel garages in the area have comparable rates; and there is a public 1,100-car Mason O'Farrell garage directly across the street.   • What is Hotel Nikko's check in and check out time?
    Check-in time at the hotel is 3 p.m., while check-out time is 11 am. Early check-in / late check-out is allowed for a fee and subject to availability. Early check-in is available upon request and based upon availability for a $50 fee plus tax.   

    Valid government-issued photo identification (state-issued ID, drivers license, passport, etc) and a valid credit card that matches the photo identification is required upon check-in for all guests.  Debit and credit cards will be charged at check-in for the amount of your stay and authorized for $125 per day to cover incidentals.  The authorization will hold the funds until check-out, at which time the amount incurred for incidentals will be charged.  The release of unused authorized amounts may take anywhere from two to thirty days by your financial institution.

    If you are under the age of 18 and not traveling with an adult, Hotel Nikko San Francisco requires a parent or guardian of the minor, or another responsible adult, to assume, in writing, full liability for any and all proper charges and other obligations incurred by the minor for accommodations. We ask that you fill out the form below and present it to Front Desk upon your arrival.

    The Hotel Nikko San Francisco is 100 percent smoke-free, so we do not have any smoking rooms.
  • How do I send a package to the hotel to be there on arrival?
    If you have a reservation at the hotel, you can send packages to yourself prior to your arrival. When addressing these packages to yourself, please note on the package: "For guest arrival on _____" with your arrival date. Upon arrival at the hotel, your packages will be ready for you at our business center on the lobby level. Handling fees apply.

  • Does Hotel Nikko have refrigerators for guests to store food?
    All our rooms have in-room servi-bar refreshment centers that have a separate cold storage area for your personal items. Additional small refrigerators are available upon request at no additional charge.

  • Is the hotel near Union Square?
    Hotel Nikko is just a quick walk from Union Square in San Francisco. Head out the front doors and after a 5 minute stroll, you'll find yourself in this famous plaza. Union Square is surrounded by some of the city's top dining, shopping and entertainment.
  • Is there a shuttle to SFO?
    We do not have a free shuttle but our concierge will be happy to arrange transportation for you! Call the hotel directly.
  • Does Hotel Nikko allow pets in the room?
    Hotel Nikko welcomes dogs and certified service animals only.  We love pets so much, we've even adopted our own dogs, Buster and Beau, who live at the hotel. Your pup will enjoy access to the only rooftop pet terrace in San Francisco, located at the hotel, plus plenty of dog treats and a bed. The fee for dogs (50 pounds and under) is $65 per day per dog, with a refundable cleaning deposit of $150 required at check-in.

    You'll find one of the best restaurants in the Union Square area right here at ANZU, an Asian-influenced eatery serving California cuisine that locals and visitors love. ANZU is now open for indoor dinning with limited seating every week Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm.

    Other highly rated places to eat in Union Square include Jeanne D'arc, serving French cuisine, Cafe La Taza, specializing in vegan fare, and Eno Wine Bar.

    San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is about 14 miles south of downtown San Francisco and the Financial District. You can easily take a cab from Hotel Nikko for about $45-50 or hop on the nearby BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) at Powell Street, 2 blocks away, for $8.95 for an adult ticket. You can also take the Super Shuttle to SFO for about $32 to $34 one way.
  • Is it easy to hop on a San Francisco Cable Car?
    Yes, and hopping on a San Francisco Cable Car is a must for out of town travelers. You can purchase your $6 fair in advance or on the car. Choose your own route and explore San Francisco your way, but don't forget to make a stop at Fisherman's Wharf. Guests of the Hotel Nikko can head out the front doors and walk over to the 4th and Market stop to hop aboard.

    The San Francisco cable cars operation hours run from 6:00 a.m. until around 12:30 at night. The cable cars run about every 10 minutes, making it easy and convenient to hop on and off depending on where you're headed around the city.

    San Francisco local bus fare for the Muni Bus & Rail Single Trip Fare is $2.25 for Adults, $1.00 for Youth ages 5-17 (ID required), $1.00 for Senior, Disabled or Medicare (ID required), and free for Children ages 4 and younger.

    Hotel fees in San Francisco include 14 percent occupancy tax, 0.195 percent California Tourism fee, and an 1.5 - 2.25 percent Tourism Improvement District assessment dependent upon the location of the hotel property.

  • Does Hotel Nikko have an airport shuttle?
    While the hotel does not have a direct airport Nikko shuttle, third-party shuttles or shared-ride vans are available from 4:30AM-11:00PM daily. If you are arriving in the Domestic Terminal the pick-up location will be on the Arrivals Level terminal curbside. If you are arriving in the International Terminal pick-up will be located on the Arrivals Level roadway center island. The cost to take a shuttle from SFO to Hotel Nikko ranges between $16 to $20 per person.
     
    Additionally, we are conveniently located two short blocks from BART (the Bay Area Rapid Transit) at the Powell Street station. BART trains leave directly from SFO and connect with OAK via shuttle. Please see https://oceanfilmfest.org/film-program-2015/ for schedules.
  • When is the best time to go to San Francisco?
    The best times to visit San Francisco are in the spring and fall months of May, June, September and October, when the weather is warm and clear and tourist season isn't at its peak. Traveling to San Francisco in the winter means chilly, damp weather, while in the summer, you'll find hot days, heavier crowds, and higher hotel rates. The best time for outdoor sightseeing and walks around the city is "Indian summer," just after Labor Day weekend through September and into October. After summer, when the skies clear and temperature rises, the beaches are amazing.

    One of the most exciting tourist destinations in the world, San Francisco is overall safe, including the walkable neighborhoods of Union Square, Chinatown, Financial District and Fisherman's Wharf. The city also offers safe public transportation, including the nearby cable cars.   • Where do you park to walk the Golden Gate Bridge?
    Pedestrians can walk the Golden Gate Bridge on the East Sidewalk, which can be reached from Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center parking lot, from the walking trail or the parking lot on the Marin side. You can also park and walk to the bridge from the Fort Point Historic Landmark, the lot at Crissy Field, a 15-minute walk uphill, and the Palace of Fine Arts, which gives you four hours of free parking.

    We do not require proof of vaccination.

    Currently, San Francisco doesn't mandate vaccinations for children under 12 years old, therefore no proof of vaccination is required in children under 12.
