Nice hotel in the Union Square area. Depending on your perspective that is good or bad. Room was nice enough and service was excellent but the hotel would benefit from a coffee shop and bar. The plus side is that the lobby is very quiet and a much nicer place than the Hilton across the road.

As what I would expect from Japanese sense of hospitality (omotenashi or おもてなし), I was thrilled by their attention to detail. Was here for my Doctorate Commencement Ceremony, the young fine gentleman Greg Robinson went the extra mile to congratulate me and facilitated my early check-in. On the second day, I went to the gym and a swim and missed my Breakfast Wellness Station. He went out of his way to help me get some protein bars, fruits and tetra packaged ionised water to perk up my day. I was thoroughly impressed by Greg and dare say he exemplifies the Japanese Ometenashi perfectly! I haven’t been to SF for 20 years. I hope the next time I come, I get to stay here again
