Celebrating St. Patrick's Day in San Francisco
There's no better place outside the Emerald Isle to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day than San Francisco. After all, the City by the Bay is the sister city to Cork on Lough Mahon. Ours is one of the largest St. Paddy's Day celebrations in the world. So, don your green, hoist a pint, and let's see how the locals recommend you get your Irish on, even if it's just for the big day.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Join over 100,000 people enjoying San Francisco's annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Local Irish dancing companies, bands, and organizations light up the day for the 171st season. The parade is like a party and is always held on a weekend. So, this March 11th, pack a picnic and plan to arrive early to get a great seat. The festivities officially begin at 11:30AM at the intersection of 2nd. Street and Market. Family fun for all ages!

LepraCon Pub Crawl

There's no need to scheme about catching a leprechaun when you can join in with the infamous LepraCon Pub Crawl. Starting at 6PM on Thursday, March 17th, start at Mayes Oyster House for your wristband and a map to the 20 different bars participating in the event. Each pub offers signature drink specials, DJs, live music, and more. Choose your own adventure!

Annual St. Patrick's Weekend Block Party

The Guinness flows freely at the annual St. Patrick's Day block party in the Financial District on March 12th and March 17th. Traditional Irish music and Celtic rock keep you dancing all night long. The doors open at 11 AM, with the festivities starting at 1:30PM and playing until 11:30PM.

St. Pat's Sunday Block Party

The United Irish Cultural Center hosts family fun with live music, dancing, fantastic food and drink, and kid-friendly crafts and fun. This year, they're partying at Schroeder's Restaurant from 3–10PM. See you there!

St. Patrick's Day Massacre

You'll earn every Guinness when you join in the informal, semi-competitive, hill-climbing biking ride known as the St. Patrick's Day Massacre. This charitable race is all in fun but with some serious credentials. They have raised over $135,000 for many causes, including art and kindergarten. This year's proceeds benefit UNICEF's Children in Ukraine and the S-F Marin Food Bank.

Saint Patrick's Day Celebration with Finian's Call

The entire family will enjoy traditional and popular Irish music by Finian's Call at Old Princeton Landing – Half Moon Bay Public House & Grill. So, raise a pint and sing along!

Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista Café

While Irish coffee was born in Ireland, of course, the first establishment in the U.S. to perfect the frothy drink was Buena Vista Café. Renowned for serving as many as 2,000 Irish coffees a day, it also holds the World Record for the largest Irish coffee.
