San Francisco comes alive every March for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival. Break out your most festive green outfit and bring the whole family to this exciting event taking place on Saturday, March 15. Centered around the bustling Market Street and Civic Center area, this is the largest Irish event west of the Mississippi filled with over 100 Irish dance troupes, colorful floats, marching bands, and so much more. You'll even find local political leaders, youth groups, and SF Police and Fire Departments marching with the crowds.
This is the premier San Francisco event celebrating the Irish community's diversity and character, and the city pulls out all the stops to make it a memorable event for everyone.
Along with the parade, there will be several booths promoting Irish culture, heritage, food, and plenty of live music and dancing to keep everyone in the spirit. Grab a traditional Irish snack and beverage and stroll the booths to find a unique gift to bring home. The kids will love the pony rides and the inflatable jumping amusements that will keep them busy for hours.
The 163rd annual 2014 parade promises to be the biggest and best one yet. Over 100,000 spectators line the route and attend this incredible California event each year, and it's a true community occasion to make San Francisco proud. Make sure to mark down the starting time of 11:30 am on your calendar, so you don't miss out on all the Irish flair, food, and fun.
