Come out and support an excellent cause and have a great time while doing it during the annual Dash and Splash 5K Run/Walk in San Francisco. All of the money raised goes to the Special Olympics, so your hard earned sweat will be well rewarded with the knowledge of helping one of the country's most important non-profit organizations.
Joggers can speed along the route trying to best their top time, while walkers can take their time and enjoy the spectacular San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge that all make an appearance along the trail. Everyone gets into a festive spirit with creative costumes that the event is known for including full team outfits from penguins to 80's themed neon uniforms! At the end of the 5K-journey, those that have signed up for the Polar Plunge can cool down in the chilly waters of the San Francisco Bay. For those that dare take on this challenge, it's an exhilarating experience you will never forget!
The fun run/walk starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 3260 Van Ness Avenue, near Aquatic Park in San Francisco. There are several ways to enter this fun California event, and you can sign up to just do the run/walk ($50 on the day of the event) or for the total experience with the Polar Plunge ($125) that includes a souvenir hooded sweatshirt. Just remember to bring something entertaining to wear and get ready to have some fun!
