2015 Nihonmachi Street Fair in San Francisco on August 1 and 2

Every summer San Francisco gathers in Japantown to celebrate the diverse beauty of Asian-Pacific American culture during the Nihonmachi Street Fair. Through art, food, live performance and music, this rich community comes together to share their culture with the whole city. Attracting over 30,000 attendees last year, the 2015 version promises to deliver a wide range of unforgettable opportunities for eating, shopping and entertainment.

Offering two stages of live entertainment, some of the city's most popular bands will be playing everything from jazz and hip hop to reggae and blue grass. There will also be a diverse cultural line-up showing off Hawaiian music and dance, traditional Japanese dance and much more. When it comes to food, there will be plenty to choose from including local food trucks featuring Asian specialties, burgers, ribs, and garlic fries as well as tasty beverages like smoothies and coffee. The Asian artisan booths are your chance to browse dozens of handmade crafts and meet the talented artists who will be on hand to showcase their goods. There's even a vintage car show as part of the festival that will feature over 20 vehicles including muscle cars, old-school trucks and other cars from back in the day.

Kids will have plenty of interactive activities to keep them occupied from creating Asian arts and crafts to testing their skills during fun games. Your four-legged friends won't be left out of the fun either with the Doggie World celebration and parade. As one of the top summer events in San Francisco, it's easy to experience when you stay at our hotel in Downtown that's just minutes away from Japantown.
