We're thrilled to welcome Bay Area jazz treasure Paula West to her third annual winter residency with us at Feinstein's at the Nikko, February 11th through March 6th. Ever since she came to the city in the late 1980s, she's been inspired by the spirit of jazz in San Francisco. Quickly she began refining her voice in open mics across town, building relationships in a tight-knit community of musicians from the Bay to NYC. Before long she was offered residencies at lounges and hotels on both coasts, performing in Europe, at the White House, and even singing the lead in Wynton Marsalis' revival of his Pulitzer Prize-winning "Blood on the Fields."

"The Finest Jazz-Cabaret Singer Around"

Those are the words JazzTimes uses to describe our dear friend Paula West. And they're not the only ones, as The New York Times rages that she's as close to being "all things to all people" as a jazz singer can get. What is it everyone loves? Simply put, her low, powerful contralto voice is mesmerizing, rich with heartbreak, joy, and enough swing to get the crowd moving when the mood is right. Couple these skills with an uncanny ability to turn non-jazz hits like Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" into knockout numbers, and you've got one of the hottest tickets in Bay Area lounges right now.

Make a Night of It at Feinstein's

The nightclub opens 90 minutes before the show so guests are able to find a table, order drinks, and savor a seasonal menu from Executive Chef Philippe Striffeler. There is a $25 corkage fee if you bring your own wine, and each seat requires a $20 purchase of food or beverages.
