Saint Patrick's Day Parade & Festival in San Francisco

Now in its 166th year, San Francisco's St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival is a raucous celebration that takes over the streets of downtown with Irish music, culture, and entertainment. The holiday itself is on Friday, March 17 – but the big parade takes place the weekend before, on Saturday, March 11. Wear your brightest green and get ready for a fun-filled procession that honors the city's Irish heritage and history.

Parade Route & Festival Information

Stepping off at 11:30 am, the St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at 2nd and Market Streets. The procession heads down Market Street to Civic Center Plaza, where it stops at San Francisco City Hall and turns into a festival. Arrive early to find a good place to stand along Market Street for the best views of the bagpipers, marching groups, and performers. Following the parade, revelers will stay for traditional Irish music, live step dancing, and plenty of green beer.
