Eat Drink SF: An Epic Foodie Festival
It used to be known as SF Chefs. Today, it's called Eat Drink SF. But whatever name it goes by, it's an outrageous occasion for foodies of all stripes to experience the excellent cuisine served up by some of the top chefs around. It's also a chance to imbibe wondrous cocktails, wines and beers. Taking place August 1-3, 2014 at Fort Mason in San Francisco, this fanatical foodie festival features a whole host of events with a portion of the proceeds benefiting local food-related organizations. For starters, there's "My Big Obsession: Can't Stop. Won't Stop. Eatin'. " This opening night affair will be highlighted by meals prepared by such amazing San Francisco eateries as Alexander's Steakhouse, Café des Amis, Beach Chalet & Park Chalet, Absinthe Brasserie, Betelnut and 1760.

During the afternoon of Saturday, August 2, the main event is "Meet My Mentor: An Homage. " Grateful chefs will be serving up dishes that were inspired by their culinary mentors. More than three dozen unique meals from restaurants like Copita and Bartlett Hall will be available along with beverages galore from a variety of vendors. Saturday night is "A Night of Classics: Bay Area Originals, " which will boast signature menu items from such fine dining establishments as Restaurant Anzu, Beretta, CHAYA Brasserie, Dobbs Ferry and Chino. Wine and beer will be flowing and music will be playing so make sure to bring your dancing shoes. The final event, "Made in SF: Celebrating the Bay Area's Tastemakers, " begins at 12:30 on Sunday, August 3. The spotlight will focus on the folks who make the Bay Area's food and beverage scene sizzle: chefs, farmers, artisans, winemakers, brewers and mixologists.
